How to share your travel experience or article
The kind of vacation, weekend-away, or family trip that creates long-lasting memories very rarely happens by accident. Time and effort, and sometimes sweat and tears, goes into planning an itinerary long before departure day. Hours are spent scouring the internet for places to go, things to do, and searching for accommodation and transport options.
Perhaps you share photos on Instagram or updates on Facebook to keep family and friends up to date while you’re travelling. But then what? Once you’re back with inspiration, stories, new learnings (and perhaps sunburn), is that it? Do you file your itinerary for it never to be seen or enjoyed again?
No, not by a long shot. Go to our Submission page and tell the world what you learned! There are DIY travellers around the world wanting help. They are planning trips to the place you’ve been.
On our Submission page you can upload any of the following:
* .doc or .docx files
* link to a Google Sheet or Document
There are fields designed to prompt you in the retelling of your travel experience. Where did you stay? What restaurants or foods would you recommend? None of these fields are compulsory, but they help provide a fuller picture of your itinerary.
Share your travel photos.
A picture really does tell a thousand words! Upload your photos via the same Submission Form. Be sure you have the permission of those in the photos. When you submit anything, you agree to our Terms and Conditions which stipulate that “you have express permission of everyone who is clearly visible and identifiable in the photograph (and their parent or guardian, if applicable).”
There is also a place in the submission form to supply captions for your photos. It’s a good idea to tell us ‘where and what’ is happening in the photo, and who took it. Photographers always deserve credit, after all!
Not a writer? No problem.
Really, it doesn’t matter about your grammar or spelling. All submissions go through an editorial process to clean up the submissions and present them in a way that is easy for our readers. We will also create a downloadable itinerary from your submission if we can. But that’s for us to worry about, not you. 😊
Do people really care about my itinerary or travel experience?
Yes! They really do.
If you have ever read a travel blog or a Tripadvisor review, then you can sure that someone is going to find your experience and travel itinerary of interest.
People want to read about trips for families, couples, solo travelers and girlfriend trips. It doesn’t matter who you went with, where you went, or what you did. People really want you to share your travel experience or itinerary.
The whole reason Globalwot was born was to share the joy of travel and to reduce the pain associated with travel planning.
Here’s why people want your travel experience or article:
* You could save someone else hours of time.
* It could calm their fears.
* Inspire them to travel with their autistic family members.
* Give them an idea for a luxury romantic beach holiday.
* Help someone save money with your budget travel itinerary.
* Give people an itinerary and ideas on how to travel somewhere they’ve never heard of.
*And so on, and so forth…
Why we want your travel itinerary or article
Apart from the world wanting your itinerary for their own travel interests, we want it too – for a different reason. And to be honest: it’s all about the money. 🥰 We want to do good and support women and girls on a global scale. We have pledged to give our net profit to international charities that do just that. Check out our partnership with Days for Girls International who are changing the status quo through quality menstrual care solutions, health education, and income-generation opportunities.
How your itinerary helps us (and therefore, girls and women everywhere).
We give away all submitted articles and itineraries for free. If you haven’t seen our free downloadable itineraries – please do! We turn your travel experiences into an itinerary that others can download and use. It’s all about sharing the love.
But, back to the topic at hand… how does that help us? Firstly; our website runs Google Ads. Every time someone visits our website, and scrolls past an advert, we earn micro-income.
Secondly; we add affiliate links for accommodation or attractions to your blog posts or there may be some throughout the amazing and free content elsewhere on our site. If you book or buy something through these links, we earn a small commission – all at no extra cost to you.
So, we need your itinerary!
We need new content and a reason for people to come back and visit. The more people who visit our site, the better for everyone!
We also welcome any videos or vlogs you might have made of your trip. Our Youtube channel has lots of great videos on it and links back to our website.
OK, I’m convinced. I’ll share my travel experience – what now?
Hooray! Head on over to our Submission page and share what you know. It may take some time to upload photos or share your recollections. Use the Save and Continue Later option if you have to come back to it. We will email you a link to your saved form so you can finish it later.
Tip: The sooner you share after your trip, the easier it is to write about it.
If you have any problems at all, contact us at email@example.com. Some people prefer to send photos by email – we happily welcome them.
Someone on our editorial team will answer your questions, or reach out if we need clarification on anything. That same person will send you a preview link to your blog post. Nothing is published without your final approval.
Search. Travel. Share.
Feel free to travel using a free itinerary from our site. And then, when you return, think of us again and share your story.
Even though we travel to the same place, we see things with different ideas, hearts and budgets.
